LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — It’s been more than three months since 75-year-old Nathaniel Barnes suffered a stroke, but he says he’s unable to return home because the complex where he lives hasn’t accommodated his move to a first-floor unit.
Barnes has lived at the Lux apartments near Sahara and Rancho for more than 40 years, but his life changed on June 30 when he had a stroke. His current unit is on the second floor of a building with no elevators.

“I can’t walk. I can’t go up the stairs. My left side is paralyzed,” Barnes said. “I wish we could’ve worked something out, because I haven’t lived there for three months, but paying my rent every day.”
