Las Vegas police officer recognized for saving 22-month-old baby from overdose

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — On Wednesday, Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill recognized officers who have gone above and beyond in the line of duty.

From the Cybertruck explosion at the start of the year, to saving a newborn baby born in a drainage tunnel, each of the officers went through experiences they never thought they would.

Two officers, Cruz Fiore and Vincent Vanslyke, were recognized for their use of overdose-reversing medicine Narcan. The small nasal spray can save lives, and for Vanslyke, that life was a 22-month-old baby.

Vanslyke says he was recovering a stolen car near a known drug house, and a man related to the car’s owner put his baby in the front seat while they went through paperwork…
