Las Vegas grand jury indicts woman for nearly $5M in Medicaid fraud

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas grand jury indicted a woman for nearly $5 million of alleged Medicaid fraud.

Leasa Yvonne Carter is charged with three felony counts of submitting false statements for Medicaid fraud, perjury, and theft of $100,00, along with one gross misdemeanor of intentional failure to maintain adequate records.

Carter served as a Medicaid provider through ‘Square One Behavioral Health’ at two Las Vegas locations and billed Medicaid from Sept. 2018 to Nov. 2023 despite her Medicaid contract being terminated in 2014 for seven years, according to the Nevada Attorney General’s office…
