Las Vegas police: Speeding motorcycle rider did drugs before killing woman on scooter

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A speeding and uninsured motorcycle rider accused of killing a woman on a mobility scooter was wanted on a warrant and allegedly told police he had consumed drugs before the crash, according to documents 8 News Now obtained Thursday.

Darin McCuistion, 58, faces charges of DUI resulting in death and several other charges connected to the fatal crash from Friday, Oct. 3.

Around 8 p.m. that day, McCuistion, who was riding a motorcycle near Torrey Pines Drive and Hyde Avenue, collided with Jodie Collins-Wells as she rode a mobility scooter, police said. The crash occurred as Collins-Wells was crossing the road in the intersection…
