‘I have a lot of pain’: Las Vegas man sentenced to life in prison for killing estranged wife

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man is spending the rest of his life in prison for killing his estranged wife in front of his two children more than two years ago.

Clark County District Court Judge Michelle Leavitt sentenced Roidan Durruthy Mendoza, 40, of Las Vegas, to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty on Aug. 25 to murder with use of a deadly weapon.

Mendoza was also sentenced to two consecutive terms of 8 to 20 years in prison on the deadly weapon enhancements…
