‘Purple Thursday’ marks push to end domestic violence in Nevada

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Advocates across Nevada are wearing purple Thursday to show support for survivors of domestic violence and raise awareness about the resources available to help them.

“Purple Thursday,” observed nationwide on the third Thursday in October, is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, aimed at promoting healthy relationships and ending abuse.

Despite awareness efforts, Nevada continues to rank among the top states for domestic violence rates, according to the Nevada Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence (NCEDSV).
