LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — With the bright lights of Las Vegas shining into the night sky, seeing meteor showers and other parts of the nighttime sky may take a bit of maneuvering to get the best view.
Meteor showers consist of small particles of ice and rocks from comets and asteroids slamming into Earth’s atmosphere and burning up to create bright, colorful lights.
During some of the larger showers, skywatchers can see anywhere from 50 to 100 meteors per hour streaking through the sky, according to NASA.
