Undocumented immigrant admits guilt in Las Vegas fentanyl death; immigration impact unclear

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — An undocumented immigrant admits he sold a Las Vegas man fentanyl, which led to his death, according to court documents obtained by the 8 News Now Investigators.

Jorge Miranda, 47, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, ownership or possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, trafficking in a controlled substance, and selling, transporting, or attempting to sell or transport a controlled substance.

Miranda sold fentanyl pills to 45-year-old George Kalianiotis, who died of an overdose last year, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. Miranda had a firearm with him at the time of his arrest, and police found additional firearms, drugs, and drug packaging material at Miranda’s home, prosecutors said…
