Las Vegas restaurants heated over $400M bus transit system project

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — People lined up to enter a popular Las Vegas gastropub, but it appears the swinging front doors blocking the temporary sidewalk for a $400 million construction project have something to do with it.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) started construction on the Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit project in summer of 2024, estimated to cost $378 million. The work on Carson Avenue in Downtown Las Vegas makes up the $118 million portion of the project.
