LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A stabbing inside a Las Vegas Chinatown karaoke room and subsequent shooting in a parking garage reveal new questions about an incident three years ago.
On Tuesday, community leaders, local organizations, and the family of a man attacked inside the Space BBQ restaurant in 2022, identified by police as Lei Pei, thanked District Attorney Steve Wolfson for filing assault charges against Junren Wang.
“We stand with DA Steve Wolfson, and we stand thankful that our community can rest assured that all violent crimes will always be prosecuted at the fullest extent of the law and that justice will be served for the victim and his family,” Evan Louie, chairman of One APAI Nevada, said during Tuesday’s conference.
Documents obtained by the 8 News Now Investigators reveal the incident started inside a karaoke room and led to a shooting inside the shopping center’s parking garage. Police found several spent 9mm cartridge casings in the garage of the Pacific Asian Plaza near Decatur Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road.
“I applaud the district attorney’s office for finally bringing this to light. But you know, the one thing we cannot tolerate is that justice is very, very, very, very, sometimes meticulous, and that’s a kind word,” Gloris Kawili, who was representing the Asia Pacific America Labor Alliance, said. “Justice has to be for everyone.”…
