10-Year-Old Boy Dies, 9-Year-Old Injured After Scooter Collides with Truck in Las Vegas Intersection

A 10-year-old boy died after he and a 9-year-old friend collided with a truck while riding an electric scooter in Las Vegas.

The two children were sharing an e-scooter on Oct. 23 when they collided with a Toyota Tundra truck at the intersection of East Butternut Lane and North Charnut Lane in Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Traffic Bureau.

“A collision occurred when the two juveniles unlawfully entered the intersection and crossed the Toyota’s path of travel,” authorities stated in a press release. “The front of the Toyota collided with the right side of the E-Scooter, ejecting both juveniles to the ground. The Toyota subsequently ran over the passenger on the E-Scooter.”

After the collision, medical personnel performed life-saving measures on the 10-year-old, who was later identified as Marquis Abraham. Unfortunately, Abraham succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 9-year-old, who had been operating the e-scooter, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the UMC Trauma Center…
