LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — In recent months, clean-up efforts surrounding homeless encampments in the area of Flamingo and Maryland Parkway have been made; however, some nearby residents and property owners say crime stemming from those encampments continues.
“I walk out of the house, and I have to see guys shooting up, I see naked people on the street, I see people getting beaten up. Nobody is talking about the way our mental health is being affected, having to see all of this every single day. I am tired of it. I am done,” said one resident during Monday night’s Homeless Town Hall meeting put on by the County.
In May, several community voices expressed their years-long frustrations over the growing encampments, prompting Clark County Commission Chair Tick Segerblom, LVMPD, along with other local agencies, to work together, spearheading encampment clean-up efforts; however, despite the clean-ups, some say the encampments are continuing to resurface…
