LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Roughly half a million Nevadans rely on SNAP benefits to feed their families. But with those benefits set to lapse at the start of next month, concern is growing across the valley — especially in communities where every dollar counts.
At Mario’s Westside Market, owner Mario Berlanga says customers are already showing signs of desperation as they face the possibility of losing access to the federally funded program.
“It’s scary for us, it’s scary for the customers,” Berlanga said. “They’re coming in saying they don’t know what they’re going to do.”…
