LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A crash report filed by Metro police indicates a teenage girl on an e-scooter was at fault in a collision in front of Centennial High School at about 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
The girl received minor injuries to her face and leg, colliding with a Mercedes-Benz driven by a man who didn’t see her coming around a school bus that was stopped in a center turn lane. The bus was blocking a crosswalk, the crash report said, and instead of waiting, the girl tried to go around the front of the bus.
The scooter went into the path of the black 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and the driver couldn’t see her coming, the report indicated.
The car was in the right lane of westbound Centennial Parkway, and the bus was ahead and to the left, turning onto Michelli Crest Way. When the car began to move forward, the collision with the scooter occurred. Police said the girl failed to yield the right of way.
The girl was not cited, according to the report. Although she did not claim injury, she was taken to Summerlin Hospital with minor injuries. Damage to the scooter and the front of the car was described as “moderate.” The report did not specify if she was wearing a helmet…
