Ex-Las Vegas clerk gets 18 to life for murder over stolen salad

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A former 7-Eleven clerk will serve at least 18 years in prison after shooting and killing a woman over a stolen salad.

Clark County District Court Judge Tierra Jones sentenced Rainier Jefferson, 37, to 18 years to life Thursday for killing Mallery Armijo, 35, in June 2023. In September, a jury found Jefferson guilty on a charge of second-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon.
