Las Vegas nonprofit launches emergency food distribution for SNAP recipients

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The federal government shutdown will cause nearly half a million people to stop receiving SNAP benefits starting on Nov. 1. One local nonprofit is taking action.

Vegas Helps, a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Las Vegas families in need, created VegasFoodBoxes, which will provide $10,000 worth of emergency pre-packaged food boxes on Monday, Nov. 3, to eligible families.
