Man dies after crash puts fence rail through pickup windshield

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 62-year-old man died at a Las Vegas hospital after a crash that put a rail from a chain-link fence through his windshield on Friday in Mohave Valley, Arizona.

A photo accompanying the report showed the top rail of the fence protruding from the center of the windshield of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup, and a rail sticking out of a rear passenger window.

Michael Trent Hughes was transported to Las Vegas after he was initially taken to a hospital in Arizona. An investigation by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) found that Hughes ran a stop sign before running into the fence. Speed also appeared to be a factor in the crash, deputies said…
