Las Vegas teen raises funds to combat hunger amid SNAP cuts

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A Las Vegas high school senior is taking action to fight hunger as SNAP benefits face potential cuts. Jordyn Lenae, a student at Arbor View High School, is raising money to support Three Square, a local food bank. “With the possible freezing of SNAP benefits, so many families, kids, and young people my age could lose access to the food assistance they depend on to live,” Lenae said.

Lenae has a history of community service, having previously raised over $15,000 for Three Square. She is now pledging to match up to $3,000 of her own savings to help provide meals. “Every dollar donated helps provide three meals through Three Square, so even the smallest amount makes a real difference,” she said.

In addition to her fundraising efforts, Lenae has donated essentials to Street Teens, organized events for Neuro Restorative for Kids, and participated in various volunteer activities. She is also active in her school community, serving as the Arbor View Student Body Historian and Varsity Cheer Captain…
