Shutdown could wrap soon, but SNAP delays keep Nevada families in crisis

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Residents who rely on SNAP benefits say they are running out of options as the federal government shutdown drags on, leaving families across Nevada struggling to put food on the table.

In Henderson, Vegas Helps held its second food distribution event, handing out about 70 pounds of groceries to every family that showed up.

“They only gave me 12 dollars, so that isn’t going to last me and the three kids I got at home,” resident Linda Sena said. “I didn’t know what I was going to do.”…
