LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Critical Las Vegas infrastructure was extensively damaged after an illegal dumping of drilling waste at Elon Musk’s The Boring Company Vegas Loop site, according to the Clark County Water Reclamation District.
Two drilling sites for The Boring Company Vegas Loop project were cited for refusing to stop, and lying about, illegally dumping and later disposing of drilling mud, spoils, and solid waste byproduct in Aug., after an anonymous complaint.
“[The] complaint alleging that, beginning April 21, 2025, untreated water from [The Boring Co.] owned holding tanks was discharged to the district’s [publicly owned treatment works],” David Stoft, a Clark County Water Reclamation District lawyer, wrote in the violation notice.
