‘This is heartbreaking,’ police react to 11-year-old Las Vegas girl’s death

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Police are reacting to the death of an 11-year-old girl who was struck and killed Monday night.

The crash happened at 5:18 p.m. at Lake Mead Boulevard, west of Concord Street and near MLK Boulevard, when the girl crossed the street outside a designated crosswalk.

“This cannot keep happening,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan police posted on X on Tuesday mor ning along with a video. “This is a heartbreaking, preventable tragedy and another reminder of how quickly lives are taken on our roadways.”…
