LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Police released more details Wednesday morning on a 12-car crash that left two people dead and others injured Tuesday afternoon.
The driver accused of causing the crash, 19-year-old Jose Gutierrez, suffered serious injuries and is hospitalized at University Medical Center. He is facing four counts of reckless driving resulting in death or substantial bodily harm, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan police.

The passenger in his vehicle, only identified as a 20-year-old woman, was killed in the crash, which happened at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Jones Boulevard around 3:30 p.m.
Another driver, a 38-year-old man, was also pronounced dead at the scene. Six other people were injured, including a 24-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries and a 27-year-old man, who is hospitalized in serious condition. Both were in the same car.
Police said evidence at the crash scene, video surveillance, and witness statements indicated Gutierrez, who was driving an Infiniti, was speeding while traveling eastbound on W. Cheyenne when he crashed into the other vehicles that were stopped for a red light at the intersection…
