Henderson City Hall expected to meet to reprimand indicted councilwoman

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Henderson City Council will decide Monday whether to reprimand an elected official indicted by a Clark County Grand Jury. The decision will come one day before the councilwoman, Carrie Cox, faces those state charges in court.

Moments after a regular city council meeting, the City of Henderson posted the agenda for a special meeting to “censure”  Cox following a grand jury indictment on one charge of monitoring or attempting to monitor a private conversation of a fellow council member.

In the resolution, city staff wrote Cox’s actions were “antithetical” to the city’s policy including: failing to model teamwork and civility, engaging in dishonesty, spreading gossip and rumors, disrespectful behavior and making disparaging comments…
