LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police report a 30 percent drop in murders this year and credit a specialized investigative team with helping to drive that progress.
The Violent Gun Crime Unit launched in October 2024. They focus on shootings where victims did not die as well as cases where investigators say a shooter had an intended target but missed. News 3 was the first to report on the unit’s formation last year.
