Henderson police: Boyfriend stabbed girlfriend to death

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Henderson police are investigating a domestic violence-related homicide after they said a woman was killed at an apartment complex on Tuesday night.

Officers responded to an apartment in the 200 block of West Horizon Ridge Parkway around 6:30 p.m.

The call to the police came from a man who reported that he had killed his girlfriend. The suspect also stated he had attempted to harm himself, police said.

When officers arrived at the home, they spoke with Maurice Vanderhall, 28, and then entered the home and found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was later pronounced dead.

Vanderhall was taken into custody and taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. As of Wednesday night, he remained in the custody of officers, and upon being medically cleared, he will be booked into the detention center with formal charges to follow, according to police.

The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications…
