2 Las Vegas explosion suspects caught weeks after indictment

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two people who were on the run following an explosion outside a restaurant near the Las Vegas Strip are back in custody, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.

On Nov. 13, a pipe bomb exploded outside of Piero’s Italian Cuisine on Convention Center Drive near Paradise Road. The business sustained minor damage, and the restaurant was open later that same day.

Two men ignited the device with a fuse purchased at a Moapa fireworks store, police said, citing surveillance video and their investigation.

Last month, a Clark County grand juryvoted to indict John Navarro, 35; Sarah Hernandez, 34; and Phillip Gonzalez, 54, for their alleged involvement in the explosion. Hernandez and Gonzalez are in a romantic relationship, a detective told grand jurors, according to transcripts…
