LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Millions of Catholics honored Lady of Guadalupe Friday, a holiday deeply rooted in Mexican and Latino identity. At St. Anne’s Catholic Church, families gathered late Thursday night with candles and flowers for the traditional celebration.
The glow of candles and the sound of manañitas set the tone for a tradition passed down through generations. Families walked into church carrying flowers for La Virgen de Guadalupe.
“So we came here today to celebrate the life of the Virgen de Guadalupe and pay our respects and just celebrate her tradition and keep it going,” said Kathrynn Valle.
