Las Vegas man accused of killing TSA supervisor appears in court

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A man accused of killing a Las Vegas federal worker appeared in court facing DUI and hit-and-run charges, with the victim’s family in the room on Friday.

On Nov. 29, police said Abraham Ibale, 45, was killed by a hit-and-run driver while riding his motorcycle to work through the intersection of Tropicana and Mountain Vista. Las Vegas Metropolitan police said the driver of a 2018 Chevrolet failed to yield the right of way and immediately left the scene.

Eric Villazana, 33, of Las Vegas, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Thursday. facing several charges, including duty to stop at the scene of a crash, a felony, driving under the influence of alcohol and/or controlled or prohibited substance, a felony, resulting in death, and failure to obey lights or lighted arrows as a traffic control device signal, a misdemeanor.

Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Daniel Westmeyer did not cite bail for Villazana but did say probable cause was found to move ahead with the case.

The next court date for Villazana is set for Dec. 16…
