Henderson police issue nearly 50 citations, impound over a dozen e-motorcycles during safety campaign

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — This year, the number of crashes involving e-bikes and e-motorcycles in Henderson has doubled from 2024. In response, police launched a safety campaign, issuing nearly 50 citations and impounding over a dozen e-motorcycles.

The safety campaign, targeting e-bikes and e-motorcycles across the City of Henderson, ran from Dec. 2 through Dec. 12. During the campaign, the Henderson Police Department made 97 stops, leading to 47 citations, one of which was for reckless driving. They also issued 50 warnings, and 14 e-motorcycles were towed or impounded, Seth Van Beveren, with the Henderson Police Department, said.

“This is not a one-time thing. We are going to continue our efforts,” Beveren said, explaining the department’s targeted enforcement will continue. They already have dates in place that will be sporadic throughout next year, as they focus on additional safety measures.

“We are working with the city now to put it into law. We’re hoping by January to have that in place with the helmet law,” he said…
