Woman reports fiancé to Las Vegas police after deadly hit-and-run crash

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A Henderson man is facing charges after police accuse him of hitting and killing a pedestrian and failing to stop at the scene of the crash.

Jacob Huber, 35, of Henderson, faces a charge of duty to stop at the scene of an accident involving death or harm, according to a Las Vegas Metro police arrest report.

Man killed in hit-and-run crash in central Las Vegas valley

The crash happened on Sunday, Dec. 7, shortly after 5:30 a.m. Metro police responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian in the area of Flamingo Road and Decatur Boulevard.

Evidence at the scene and surveillance footage showed that a man later identified by police as 59-year-old Jianzhi Li was crossing Flamingo Road outside of a marked crosswalk and pushing a wheelchair when the driver of a Ford F-150, later identified by police as Huber, was traveling westbound on Flamingo Road, hit the pedestrian, dragging him along the road, according to police.

Huber failed to stop or stay at the scene and continued westbound on Flamingo Road, police said. Li was pronounced dead at the scene…
