Henderson police release names of officers involved in shooting of suspect

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Henderson Police Department released the names of the two officers involved in the shooting of a suspect who was allegedly trying to force a woman into his vehicle Sunday morning.

The officers are identified as Officer Ernesto Trejo, who has been with the department since July 2021, and Officer Riley Gee, who has been with the department since March 2025.

The suspect, who was not identified by police, was shot after he attempted to flee the scene and drove towards officers, ignoring their commands, resulting in them firing their guns. The suspect was hit and drove away from the scene, but was located after being transported to University Medical Center, where he was hospitalized in critical condition, according to a news release from police.

The shooting occurred in the 1000 block of Center Street near East Lake Mead Parkway.
