Las Vegas man accused of killing TSA supervisor had at least 6 drinks before deadly crash, police say

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The man accused of hitting and killing a Las Vegas federal worker had at least five beers and a mixed drink before the deadly hit-and-run crash, according to an arrest report.

Eric Villazana, 33, of Las Vegas, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Dec. 11 on several charges, including duty to stop at the scene of a crash, a felony, driving under the influence of alcohol and/or controlled or prohibited substance, a felony, resulting in death, and failure to obey lights or lighted arrows as a traffic control device signal, a misdemeanor.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, around 3:40 a.m., Metro police responded to multiple reports of a crash involving a motorcycle at the intersection of East Tropicana Avenue and South Mountain Vista Street. The 911 callers said that the motorcyclist was in the road and not moving and that a dark-colored pickup truck involved in the crash left the scene going northbound on Mountain Vista Street, police said.

Las Vegas motorcyclist dies in hit-and-run crash

The motorcyclist, identified as Abraham Ibale, 45, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and surveillance footage showed that Ibale was riding a Yamaha R6 motorcycle westbound on Tropicana Avenue approaching a green light at the intersection with Mountain Vista when a dark colored pickup truck attempted to make a left turn from Tropicana to Mountain Vista. The pickup truck failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle, causing Ibale to brake. The motorcycle overturned and Ibale slid through the intersection and into the back of the pickup truck, the report said…
