Vegas Cops Charge Into Bullet-Riddled Apartment, Snag Medal After Saving Kids

Three Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers were formally honored Friday with one of the department’s top team awards for their actions during an apartment shooting, in which they entered the scene and carried two children to safety.

Officers Jimmy Sarkissian Sarnani, Travis Noone, and Marcos Fitzpatrick received a Unit Medal of Valor for the rescue. Metro said the officers located two victims inside the apartment, provided immediate life-saving aid, and secured the scene to ensure no additional threats were present.

Officers’ Actions Inside the Apartment

According to a department social media post, dispatchers received a 911 call reporting that a family member was in immediate danger and that unknown suspects with a gun were attempting to harm them. When Officers Fitzpatrick, Noone, and Sarnani arrived, the department said they heard screaming and gunfire, prompting them to breach the front door as another shot was fired.

According to the department, officers found two victims inside the apartment, carried two children to safety, and began providing life-saving medical aid before additional responders transported an injured person to a hospital.

Medal of Valor and Best of the Badge Honors

The Unit Medal of Valor is one of the awards presented at the LVMPD Foundation’s annual Best of the Badge gala, which honors officers whose actions protect lives and public safety, according to the foundation.
