LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Police have identified the officer involved in a shooting near the Las Vegas Strip.
The shooting was reported shortly after 1 a.m. on Thursday about one mile west of the Las Vegas Strip and involved an unregistered vehicle near Valley View Boulevard and Twain Avenue in the 3600 block of Procyon Street.

“At one point, a passenger in the vehicle fled on foot, causing a foot pursuit to be initiated between the officer and the suspect,” LVMPD Capt. Ryan Wiggins said.
“The suspect ran and hid behind a vehicle, and was reaching into his waistband, and officers believed him to be armed,” Wiggins said. “The suspect then advanced toward officers at which time an officer discharged his firearm, striking the suspect.”…
