LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Two simple numbers have become the soundtrack of classrooms across the country as students embrace a viral chanting trend that has left teachers both amused and exasperated.
The “6, 7” chant has taken social media by storm, with children repeating the numbers in schools nationwide. Students say the trend originated from a song and gained momentum when a basketball player used it, causing it to go viral.
“It really has no meaning,” said Lily Schaefer, a student at Wallin Elementary who participates in the chant. “My brother does it, and it’s just hypnotizing for me to do.”
