LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — As Clark County health officials reported possible measles exposures on Dec. 13 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, the nation’s second-largest outbreak continues to grow in southwest Utah and Mohave County, Arizona.
In the past two weeks, 41 more cases have been confirmed in that region, which includes Utah’s Kane, Beaver, Garfield, Iron and Washington counties, along with northern Mohave County in the Arizona Strip. The outbreak started in the neighboring border communities of Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Arizona. Those communities are about 160 miles east of Las Vegas.
