LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A homeowner in Summerlin reportedly shot two armed individuals who approached him in his garage, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon on the 800 block of Haven Oaks Place near West Charleston Blvd. The condition of the victims, who were allegedly armed, remains unknown.
Prof. Thomas Chittum, a law professor at the William S. Boyd School of Law, explained that Nevada law permits the use of force, including deadly force, to protect oneself or others from imminent death or serious bodily injury. However, he emphasized that “Nevada law does not allow a person to use deadly force out of what they call ‘bare fear’; there has to be circumstances that justify that level of use.”…
