Ex-boxer turned Las Vegas police officer refused to leave woman’s home, leading to fight, documents say

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A former professional boxer who became a Las Vegas police officer is accused of fighting with a woman, breaking her phone and refusing to leave that woman’s home, according to documents.

Melinda Cooper, 40, faces charges including domestic violence and robbery for an incident on Friday, Dec. 19, records said.

That day, a woman in a relationship with Cooper called police, alleging Cooper refused to leave her home, documents said. Officers responded, finding the caller with injuries.

The woman told police Cooper arrived at her home around 1 a.m. and appeared “visibly upset,” documents said. Cooper then left the home but returned “three to four times.”…
