Nevada National Guard joining Las Vegas police for crowd control on New Year’s Eve

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nevada National Guard soldiers will be on the streets with Metro police during New Year’s Eve celebrations on the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown.

About 190 Nevada National Guard soldiers will be deployed to assist with crowd control, triage support and generally to ensure safety, according to a Monday news release. Most of the soldiers will be teamed with units from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
