Animal Foundation encourages adoption of overlooked pets

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — As people consider adding a pet to their family for the New Year, the Animal Foundation is encouraging potential adopters to consider animals they might normally overlook.

Blitz, a dog at the Animal Foundation, has been in the shelter for 94 days. The organization says cats, puppies and smaller dogs get adopted most easily, leaving bigger dogs like Blitz waiting months for families.

Rescuers say when people see dogs like Blitz in their kennels, they aren’t getting a true feel for their personality…
