Rio Shutters Hash House, Bets Big On Boozy Breakfast Upstart

Off-Strip fixture Rio Las Vegas has quietly pulled a breakfast switch. The Kitchen Table is now pouring coffee and daytime cocktails in the former Hash House A Go Go space, leaning into comfort-heavy pancakes, benedicts and a boozy morning-and-afternoon drinks lineup.

The Kitchen Table is officially open at the Rio, the property announced Monday, taking over from Hash House A Go Go, which closed earlier in December, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The swap is part of a continuing refresh of the resort’s dining options.

Menu and hours

The Kitchen Table sticks to classic daytime comfort food with some Vegas flair. A carnivore skillet piles on bacon, kielbasa and ham. Specialty pancakes come in flavors like classic vanilla, red velvet and banana matcha. Eggs Benedict appear with crab cakes and sautéed spinach, and a “Hangover Burger” uses a chorizo-beef blend, pecan wood-smoked bacon, cheddar and two fried eggs on a croissant, served with sweet potato fries. The drinks list leans into signature Bloody Marys, mimosa flights, spritzes and boozy coffees, and the restaurant operates daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., per the Rio Las Vegas website.

Design and vision

The dining room favors warm woods, soft green and cream tones and banquettes, giving the space a nostalgic yet polished vibe. “Our vision for The Kitchen Table is simple: to create a space that feels instantly familiar: warm, welcoming and centered on connection,” Patrick Miller, president and CEO of the Rio, said in the announcement, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Not related to the Henderson spot

This Kitchen Table is strictly a Rio concept. It is not affiliated with the Kitchen Table that closed in Henderson in May 2024 after nearly a decade in operation, a clarification included in coverage of the debut, according to Nevada Business. The Rio has framed the restaurant as its own in-house daytime brand.

Hash House’s status and local reaction

While the Rio is promoting its new arrival, Hash House A Go Go’s corporate locations page still shows a Rio address, suggesting the chain’s website has not yet caught up to the change, according to the Hash House A Go Go locations page. Local travelers and forum posters had already reported that the on-site Hash House shut earlier in the month as Globalist breakfast service shifted, according to local threads on Reddit.
