Following a record-breaking New Year’s Day deluge in Southern California, more rain is predicted for the area.
The Weather Prediction Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecasted a strong system approaching California and the Pacific Northwest, bringing additional heavy rain and mountain snow to these regions. AccuWeather senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski stated the “rain through Friday will occur with the main storm hovering well offshore over the Pacific.”
As we move into next week, Northern and Central California are expected to see heavier rainfall. “An atmospheric river may form, further enhancing the rain with the potential for widespread flash flooding and mudslides,” Sosnowski reported…
