Car sales may normalize in 2026, Las Vegas auto dealer says

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – With the Coronavirus and a crippling shortage of computer chips in the proverbial rearview mirror, auto sales in Las Vegas may stabilize, allowing car dealers the flexibility to “make some deals” with customers, according to the Chief Financial Officer of one the valley’s biggest retailers.

Tyler Corder, Chief Financial Officer of Findlay Auto Group, told 8 News Now approximately 16 million Americans bought cars in 2025, with 40,000 of them sold by his dealerships in and around Las Vegas. He said his inventory has reached a 50-day supply and expects 2026 to be a solid year for new car sales.

“Barring any unforeseen disaster, I think that’s what we can expect,” Corder said Friday, while he was still dealing with year-end sales, even two days into the new year. “And this is the first year that we kind of look forward to everything’s normal.”…
