Las Vegas police: Man killed grandmother after believing she was involved in conspiracy

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man, who says he was diagnosed with schizoaffective and bipolar disorders, believed his grandmother was part of a conspiracy and is accused of killing her with a hatchet before calling his wife and saying she was “in heaven.”

On Dec. 29, shortly after 8 a.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to a residence near the 2200 block of East Desert Inn Road near Eastern Avenue to check on 75-year-old Reyna Flores De Hernandez.
