LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Henderson Police Department is now accepting applications for the upcoming citizens academy, the department announced Monday.
According to a release from the department, the 12-week academy will meet every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. between March 3 and May 19. The classes are held at the North Police Station at 225 East Sunset Road.

The goal of the academy is to build a bridge between citizens and the police department that serves them. Citizens in the program will experience a condensed version of the actual police academy.
