Man extradited to Las Vegas to face murder charges in deadly car chase

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man accused of chasing and shooting at a vehicle, causing it to crash and kill a woman, is behind bars in Las Vegas after being extradited from Oregon, where he was arrested.

The crash happened shortly after midnight on Oct. 17 near Lindell and Robindale roads in the south valley.

Nick Stevenson, 53, was taken into custody by Oregon State Police on Nov. 5. He’s facing charges of murder with the use of a deadly weapon, attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon, and several other felony charges, including stealing a vehicle and gun theft.

Police: Car chase, gunshots lead to deadly crash in Enterprise

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan police, a man called police to report his car was being followed and shot at by another vehicle. A short time later, other callers reported a crash in the same area with people running away.

Police said the man being shot at sped up to get away from the shooting, but ended up crashing, and the woman in his car was killed.

Stevenson is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 12…
