Protesters in Las Vegas urge police to cut ICE ties, citing unfair investigations

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A couple of dozen Las Vegans gathered in downtown Las Vegas on Friday afternoon to protest against ICE and demand justice for Renee Good, a 37-year-old who died following an incident with ICE in Minneapolis earlier this week.

Protesters expressed concerns over the investigation’s fairness. “It should be done by the local people,” said Karen, a protester. “We can’t trust the FBI. They’ve already made a judgment. DHS, they’ve already made a minute after it happened, before they had any facts at all.”

Gabriel Cornejo, another protester, criticized ICE as a “rogue department” and expressed concerns about accountability. Bettia Torres-Miranda, who organized the rally and founded the Handsmaids of Las Vegas, called for a humane immigration policy. “Be a human, treat them like you would your neighbor or your friend or your family and not contain them, not kill them from their families,” she said…
