Safety concerns increase with growing Las Vegas homeless camps

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Residents living near Flamingo Road and Boulder Highway said ongoing issues tied to homeless encampments in a nearby wash are raising serious safety concerns.

Residents said this is not an isolated problem but part of a growing issue impacting neighborhoods across the Las Vegas valley.

“They’ll be trying to find a place to live, crawl, sleeping in elevators, they hang out down the streets here, it’s really scary for us senior citizens,” Warren Wanzo who lives nearby said.

Wanzo said the situation has become a revolving problem from piles of trash, ranging from furniture and clothing to shopping carts, scattered throughout the wash.
