Las Vegas man named 2026 Librarian of the Year

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Executive Director of the Las Vegas library district has been named the 2026 Librarian of the Year by the Library Journal.

The Librarian of the Year award is the highest honor in the profession, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District said in a release.

Library Journal, a trade publication for librarians, named LVCCLD Executive Director Kelvin Watson as the winner of this year’s award.

“This prestigious national honor recognizes Watson’s transformative leadership and his commitment to breaking down barriers to information access, addressing inequities and increasing opportunities for Southern Nevadans,” the release said…
