Arrest Made in Fatal Laughlin Hit-and-Run, Las Vegas Police Seek Witnesses

Tragedy struck in Laughlin as a woman lost her life in a hit-and-run incident on a poorly lit section of West Casino Drive; the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have made an arrest in connection to the case, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Following the horrific event on Wednesday evening, a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt was identified as the first vehicle involved after striking the pedestrian, who was walking in the roadway when the collision occurred. The driver of the Chevrolet was subsequently arrested for hit-and-run charges and is currently facing the consequences at the Clark County Detention Center.

The ongoing investigation led by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section remains in progress with an appeal for witnesses; the second vehicle, a 2014 Toyota Camry, had remained on the scene with its driver cooperating fully, and there were no signs of impairment on the Camry driver as per the initial investigation from the scene. Hoodline notes that due to the road’s conditions, the lack of street lighting and the area being notoriously dangerous for pedestrians, this unfortunate incident marks the second such fatality on Clark County roads this year.
